Highlights of the 2013 Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines
Courtney Atkinson, 33, of Australia and Caroline Steffen, 34, of Switzerland are this year's Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines Champions, finishing the race with a time of 3:58:07 and 4:16:12, respectively.
It was supposed to be a battle between the "Kings of Kona": Pete Jacobs, 31, and Chris McCormack, 40, both from Australia. Atkinson, a two-time Olympian surprised everybody, leading all the way the 1.2 mile (1.9 km) swim, 56 mile (90 km) bike, and 13.1 mile (21k) run.
Steffen defended her crown beating her course record by 4 minutes and finishing 9th overall.
Monica Torres of the Philippines finished 5th in the women's division.

More than 2,000 triathletes from 35 countries across 6 continents registered in one of the best, if not the best, Ironman 70.3 race in the world! The slots were sold in 4 days when registration opened last December 1, 2012.
The event became a qualifier to the Ironman World Championships in Las Vegas.
World-renowned designer, Mr. Kenneth Cobunpue of Cebu, again designed the Finisher's Medal and Trophies.
