May I invite you to be part of a life changing reconstructive surgery to at least 1,500 Filipino children who suffer cleft lip, cleft palate, and other facial deformities, by joining the Operation Smile's "The 500 Smile Run" on November 6, 2011 in Rizal Park, Manila (November 27, 2011 in Rizal Park, Davao).

Operation Smile is a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization and worldwide children's medical charity headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia.  It was founded by Dr. William P. Magee, Jr., a plastic surgeon, and wife, Kathleen, a nurse and clinical social worker, in 1982 after a medical mission in Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines.

At present, Operation Smile conducts surgical missions in over 60 countries.

Operation Smile believes that when you create smiles, you change lives, and you heal humanity.  The impact of facial deformity on a child is not merely physical.  Children with cleft deformities also experience psychological and sociological implications.  Their families are also affected.
