You’ve Got to Move It, Move It!

Yeah, it’s the theme song of the current Madagascar movie, and it’s driving me crazy! Call it LSS (last song syndrome) or whatever, but the song made me think and realize its wisdom.

You see, I’ve been really serious of my being fit and healthy, and made it my passion to spread the good news of living longer. So here’s another shot to convince you to wear your old pair (or get a new one) of sneakers and get physical!

Being fit is simple! Yes, you read it right! And I repeat: being fit is simple! The answer: you’ve got to move it, move it!

Think of yourself as a car. We need to gas the car in order to get it going, right? In the same manner, we need to eat in order to move. However, sometimes (or most of the times), our movements aren’t enough to expel the amount of food we intake. This, my friend, would result to stored energy, also known as fat. And who wants unnecessary fat? Well, I don’t.

I learned that the only way to lose fat IS TO USE IT by increasing your heart rate. And there’s a wide range of activities you can choose to do this: from brisk walking, to jogging, cycling, mountain climbing, dancing (yes!), or playing your favorite physical sport. Sweat it out! Not through a sauna or steam bath (try doing it alone for a decade, and see if you lose weight significantly). Buddy, you’ve got to move it, move it!

One may argue that strolling in a mall is a good exercise. But try using a heart monitor in your next window shopping and check if your heart rate rises a bit. I don’t think so.

Ok, there are products available in the market today, which burns fat, like green tea extracts and L-carnitine (which is already present in our body, by the way). But these products ONLY work with a sensible diet, AND (you guessed it right!) you’ve got to move it, move it!

I would rather suggest that you take food that is rich in vitamin C and B1, B6, and B12, for these help our body use the fat (also read stored energy, in case you forgot) in our activity.

Buddy, let go of your stored energy. Don’t be like an unused battery, leaking and rusty. Add years to your life! You’ve got to move it, move it!

Move it!
